Budding Bloggers Showcase: The Gypsy Teacher

Why hello there new friends! My name is Allie Elliott and I blog over at The Gypsy Teacher
First of all, a ginormous thank you to Amanda for letting me come visit today! I'm very excited to be here and share a bit about me!
My blog is all about my life and journey! I started it just for me, kind of like a journal. But then, I was completely inspired by all the amazing blogs out there- teaching blogs, lifestyle blogs, etc. and knew I wanted to grow! I share everything from teaching ideas, to recipes, and lots of crafting projects and life moments as well! I recently (in May of this year) graduated from college with my degree in Elementary Education, and my heart lies with 3rd and 4th grade! I am not currently teaching, but I still like to research and think up new, innovative, and creative teaching ideas and products.
As far as my personal life goes, I'm a 22 year old who is living with my family at home.
the fam: brother collin, dad, mom,
brother peter, me
I decided to move back home for a while, save money, and figure out what to do with my life!! When I'm not blogging or working at Bath and Body Works, you can find me browsing the local thrift stores, serving at my church, trying my hand at a new recipe, and crafting. My heart palpates for anything vintage, thrifty, bohemian, and world-travel!! My goals in life are to travel the world, teach around the globe, and share Jesus to everyone I meet. I'd rather wear 99 cent long floral skirts and TOMS than anything else (though I do like to try out fashion trends), and hardly ever straighten my hair. I instagram (@allieelliott) and tweet (almost) daily, and working out is my every-day stress reliever. And most of all, I love my life!
Though I am currently not in the classroom, I definitely want to be soon! I really enjoy teaching reading- especially because of how much I love to read! If you were to pop your head into my "classroom", you would see Whole Brain Teaching being used, lots of "thinking about our thinking," and creative learning techniques, like projects, anchor charts, and tactile learning!! I like to deem myself creative, and I love making learning lots of fun. Pinterest is my go-to for everything, including all things classroom!
Okay, now that the intro is done, here are some of the questions Amanda put together so you can learn some more about me!!
What gets you through one of “those” days?
The number one thing that gets me through "those" days, is my Lord and Savior.
Besides Him, lots of coffee and great friends- and to top it off, retail therapy a relaxing bubble bath at the end of the day!
What is one “can’t live without” teaching resource?
Duh. PINTEREST! Here is a link to my Pinterest boards and my most popular classroom board: Classroom:: Organization
Give us a glimpse of your teaching style by sharing a brief summary of a favorite classroom activity/project.
I think one of my favorite classroom activities has to be book clubs. I love the collaboration aspects, and how the students gain independence for their own learning.
I'm also a huge lover of anything that makes learning easier- songs, actions, etc.
What is one of your blogging goals for this year?
One of my goals for this year is to blog about life and my thoughts and personal stories, and less about linky parties (though super fun) and giveaways (who doesn't love free stuff!?). It's so easy to get involved in so many things that you forget what you're really here to do.
But something that I am hosting right now is my first ever blog swap called The Hostess with the Mostess Blog Swap!! And I'd LOVE for you to sign up!

I hope you got to know me and my blog today! Hop on over to my blog so I can get to know you by clicking on my button below!!

♥ Allie
