About Amanda

Hi y'all!  I'm Amanda, the teacher behind Teaching Maddeness.  I was born and raised right here in the upstate of South Carolina.  I live a blessed life with my husband, Andy, our two Boxers, Sampson and Chloe, and our cat, Maggie {aka Queen of the House}.

We love college sports (Go Cocks!), attending concerts (are you tired of hearing about them yet?), and just hanging out together!  I also have a love for adrenaline sports, not shared by my husband, as my favorite summer stress-reliever is skydiving!

My degree is in elementary education from the University of South Carolina with a masters degree in divergent learning from Columbia College.  I'm also a National Board Certified teacher in early childhood/generalist.  I have taught for fifteen years and have been lucky enough to have spent all of those years in second grade.  It is the perfect age, where the children are independent yet they still love to learn and love their teacher! ;)  I'm also co-owner of a couple of teacher resource companies http://www.teachersclubhouse.com (for primary) and http://www.lightbulbminds.com (for intermediate).  While life can be crazy, I love every maddening moment of it!
