I'm linking up with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics for her first MONTHLY edition of Monday Made-It. I'm so glad she is going to continue this linky because I get so much inspiration from others' ideas! However, I LOVE that she is going to a monthly format. Weekly was perfect for the summer, but I'm pretty sure it would have made me feel inadequate during the school year! lol There is no way I could keep up with all of that craftiness AND teach! :)
This week's (month's) Made-It is nothing original or super creative, but it had been on my list all summer. During the first week of school I realized I NEEDED it when students were already bringing books to me that needed a little love.
I picked up the red basket from Target for $3.99 and the wooden ambulance from Hobby Lobby for less than $1.00. I used my Cameo to add the words and voila! A BOOK HOSPITAL for when students find books that have rips, torn pages, etc. A must-need for the teacher that just can't seem to part with a book no matter what! :)
I also started SuperSpeed Math (from Whole Brain Teaching) with my kiddos this week. I'm so excited to see the impact that this has on their fact fluency this year! I created a "personal best" page for them to record their All-Time-Bests....of course, it's monster-themed! You don't have to have a monster-themed classroom to use it though, so I thought I'd share it, too!
Hope you're all enjoying your Labor Day!!
Your book hospital is precious.
