Sundays in the South: Big Brother

If you read my blog, you know that I take Sundays off from teaching {on my blog, at least!}  Today, we went to  Mimi's Cafe for brunch...love that place!  After a trip to Lowe's and Target, we're back home for a bit before heading out to the mother-in-law's house.  She's going to do a little sewing for my classroom! Yay!

Meanwhile, I'm trying to be productive on my laptop today....but I keep getting off task a bit.  One thing I'm searching for is this -
A straw pencil dispenser....I LOVE this idea!!  I saw this on Pinterest and think it's BRILLIANT!  I do the sharp/unsharp pencil boxes, but my kiddos always spend FOREVER going through the sharp pencils to find that perfect one (I mean they're all yellow and all sharp...shouldn't be that hard, right?!)  This would prevent that - just push down that little lever and take the one it gives you!  The problem?  I've searched online (including eBay) and they all cost between $60-$120!!  WHAT?!  Sigh....so, let me know if you come across any of these for less!

And, I can not wait for BIG BROTHER tonight!?  Do you watch?  I'm a total sucker for reality TV (Big Brother tonight and Bachelorette tomorrow...the good life!)  I'm really liking the twist this season, and not JUST because it brought back the best player in BB history and my all-time favorite.....JANELLE (great combination of brains and competition!)  I'm a little annoyed that Brittney is back.  I didn't think she did much her season and she grates on my nerves for some reason.  I've been watching a little of AfterDark on Showtime already and there's some interesting deals being made in the house that should prove for an entertaining season!  So, are you watching? Who's your all time favorite BB player? Do you like the "mentor" twist?

See you tomorrow for Monday Made It, where I'll reveal SEVERAL projects that I've completed this week!

I think it seems pretty durable, I know a lot of people worry about it getting broke, I guess I will have to wait and see but from what I can tell it's made pretty well.

  12. I LOVE Big Brother too! I have watched every single season. I really like the new mentor twist. I was also very excited to see Janelle return! I've never watched Big Brother After Dark, but I do follow a twitter account "@BigBrotherLeak" that posts info from the live feeds. Caution though, they do contain spoilers, but I'm just too impatient to wait for Sunday night:)I still watch every episode.

  16. I want one of these too. What a great idea. I have the same problem as you. I have kids that STAND FOREVER by my sharpened pencils examining them to see which one is the sharpest. IF you find a good by let me know.

  18. I love the idea of the straw/pencil dispenser. I'm thinking that the plastic one would work just fine and maybe if you put scrapbook paper on it and Mod Podge it, it would look really cute. I am doing a lot of Mod Podge this summer in my classroom. I am really enjoying it.
