Mr. Madden was off work today so I made him get up this morning to go to my classroom with me (since we got an email that our hall was ready to go). He usually comes and moves all of my furniture back for me. Well, there wasn't much for him to help with since the custodians asked us to leave a diagram of where we wanted our furniture to go (a first for this school) and it wall all exactly where I wanted it!! :) YAY! I didn't stay and work because I knew he would not be happy about that, but now I know that I can drop by to do a few things anytime!
Then we headed to Target to get some back to school stuff. I didn't find what I wanted (those clear dry erase sleeves everyone else in the world is getting from the dollar bins!), but....OH.MY.WORD!
Look what monster-ously wonderful items I DID find!!
That's right! Monster zip baggies in the dollar bin!! Woohoo!! I have a few ideas of how I'm going to use these cuties! Then, in with the school supplies, I found...
Monster-Themed boxes of tissues!! PERFECT!! And, finally...
How cute is that??? I have no idea how I'm going to use this little guy, but I had to get one. There were a few different colors/styles, but they were kind of pricey ($5.00 each) and since I don't know how I will use it yet, I just bought one. Any ideas for using this adorable pencil pouch? I thought of hanging him up to hold my blank slips of paper for my estimation station, but since the zipper is at the bottom that wouldn't work unless I turned him upside down. BUMMER!
Of course I bought TONS of folders and other school supplies, but those were the CUTE things! Then I had an appointment to
On my way home from there, I dropped by Staples and Wal-Mart for - you guessed it, some more school supplies. Nothing too exciting, but I did see these cute monster pencil pouches at Wal-Mart. I resisted because I didn't have a clue how I could use them, but if you have some ideas for me I'll gladly go back and get them! (hehe)
Then, I hit the gym {blah!}, but when I got home a big brown box was waiting for me! {SMILE}
All of my Vistaprint stuff that I blogged about here had arrived! I love goodies in the mail!! :) While we're on the topic of monsters, I wanted to tell you all that YOU WERE RIGHT!! My behavior chart that I blogged about making here needed mouths on those cute little monsters.
And...did you notice that I made new magnets thanks to your suggestions! Love them...so much easier for the kiddos to manipulate. I just used those clear floral stones, printed out my numbers, mod podged those suckers to the back and added a magnet!
Off to work on some projects with all of these back to school finds...and I have to be up bright and early tomorrow for a workshop!
I know it's Tuesday, but I want to get in the habit of joining in with the "Monday Made Its" so, I'm linking up...better late than never, huh? I have some other almost finished projects that I'll link up next week!
LOVE the behavior chart!

Thanks, Jennifer! I loved using the clip chart system last year...just needed to monster-fy it! :)
ReplyDeleteShopping and getting all those goodies is an accomplishment! What monster cuteness.

Wow! You racked up!
ReplyDeleteAs far as Emily, oh my word I haven't heard about Chris Harrison....oh my! I hope that's not true! I think she will pick Arie, but I like Jef better. I didn't care for him at first, but he seems so genuine.
I went shopping today too! I picked up lapdesks at Big Lots and a barstool for my classroom! It shrinks down low so that my 5 year old can easily climb on!

The preview after the Bachelorette seemed to point to her not choosing either guy, those previews are often misleading, though. I hope she picks Jef too. I heard that rumor about her and Chris being together on a morning radio program my husband listens to. Time will tell...
ReplyDeleteGreat monster finds! When i was at target yesterday basically the whole dollar section had been cleaned out for the new stuff, and all the monster stuff that was out were the ice packs. I'll have to make a trip back for those other CUTE items. And Wal-Mart. I'll have to check out their section. Thanks for sharing!
Lana,
ReplyDeleteArie was one of my first picks...he is a looker..and a racer, but I think he's still a player! I think Jef is so genuine, too. ;) Men Tell All should be interesting next week!
Sounds like you have accomplished a lot to me! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your behavior chart! The monsters are CUTE! Kids will no doubt love these too!
Love your chart. So cute!

Cute! I love the monster theme!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw that monster, I immediately thought of two ideas - a tattle monster or a secret monster. For tattle monster, students could write their tattles on pieces of paper and feed them to the monster who would chew and swallow up their problems. For secret monster, you could place one child's name inside at the beginning of the day. The monster would be on the wall watching the class all day. At the end of the day if your secret student was making positive behavior choices, the monster would announce the name to the class. If the student did not make positive behavior choices, you could pretend that the monster chewed and swallowed up the name and no one was secret monster of the day. I hope those ideas make sense :)

I love all your monster stuff! Soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteCan you use the monster pouch for a tattle monster? I don't know how you handle that stuff, but I like to have a place for kids to write the grievances so I don't have to deal with it all day.

I saw cute monster hooks in the clearance section of Hobby Lobby this weekend and thought about your classroom. I'm not sure if you had Hobby Lobby but I thought I would pass on the info. :)
