It's CURRENTLY August!

I am linking up with my first CURRENTLY!
{Completed this morning}

Okay, so let's jut TALK about the #1 item on my B2S Must-Haves list.  I finally took my Scotch Personal Laminator out of the box and REALLY used it this week. OH - MY - GOODNESS!!  It is my new BEST FRIEND!!  It is soooo much better than the laminator at school.  The lamination is soooo thick!  And to think it only cost me $27??? SERIOUSLY?  This is my 15th year of teaching and I'm JUST discovering this greatness!!  If I ever need to buy a teacher a present...this is going to be it!  I have been laminating everything I can get my hands on!  I picked up some extra laminating sleeves at Costco, too....150 sleeves for $19.99!  I'm IN LOVE!  I will definitely be picking up another one of these so I can have one at home and at school.

My Silhouette Cameo finally arrived Friday morning - that's two full days and I still haven't even used it.  I'm pretty sure it's because of one of two reasons:

1. I'm afraid I'm not going to love it as much as my $27 Scotch Laminator...seriously, I'm not sure how it gets much better than that thing!

or...

2.  I'm afraid I'm going to love it even more than my Scotch Laminator which will mean that it will occupy every second of my last full-week of summer!

{Sigh} Tomorrow, I'll take the plunge and pull it out of the box, but for tonight I've got tons of laminated games to cut apart and a couple of other crafts to finish up for Monday! :)

Don't forget to enter my HearALL Assessment Recorder Giveaway...tomorrow is the LAST day!  Also, link up your New {School} Year Resolutions if you haven't joined that linky party yet!

  1. I bought the same laminator but I have not opened it :) Does it take any laminating pouches (from any other brand)?

  3. Oh my gosh! I could not live without those two things, Rachel!

Tania, the laminating pouches I got from Costco were an "off" brand I didn't recognize but they work just fine in it and are just as thick, too! :)

  5. I have the scotch laminator too.... LOVE IT. They have great customer service too. I was not paying attention (opps) and put a sleeve in backwards once. It jammed :( I e-mailed them and they were SUPER NICE. They sent me shipping labels and offered to fix it. In the end... they ended up sending me a brand new one for free! [I guess I messed up really bad haha]

  6. Ohhh man, everyone keeps posting about their laminator and it's making me want one!! I always thought that the laminating pouches would be expensive, but that's a great deal from Costco! I am going to have to consider this... :)

  7. I picked up a Scotch laminator at Joann Fabrics this morning; on sale for 29.99 and I used a 25% off coupon so just $22.50. Haven't taken it out of the box yet, but that baby is getting used on Monday!

  9. I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!!! I'm so jealous. I may just have to break down and order one. I don't have the money right now though :(

Can you only laminate one thing per pouch or what? How does that work? I just want to see one in action before I buy it!

  10. Andi, yes, the pouch just holds one sheet. I'll try to post some "action" pics of it tomorrow to give you an idea (or maybe a video). Not as fast as the one at school since it's one sheet at a time, but it's pretty quick.

I love, love, love my Silhouette Cameo! I wasn't sure at first how to use it, but once you get used to the software you'll be cutting out everything you can think of and more! haha

  18. First I love your blog! Some days I wish I was still teaching second...we had an awesome team, loved the content, and the kids. But Kindergarten is fun too. The children bring me such joy.

Second, where did you get the personal laminator? That seems like such a great price!

  19. I absolutely love my Scotch laminator! It is the best purchase ever! Got mine at BJ's (warehouse store like Costco) for $22 and can get the name brand laminating pouches 50 per box for around $6. I laminate everything! Love it!

  20. I too have a personal laminator that I got from Costco. However, I've never even used it. After all this talk about it I'm going to get that thing out and use it. :) I found you through the blog hop and would love to have you check out my blog . Big Brother After Dark is fun to watch, but I watched it the other night and I already knew before it aired that Danielle was HOH! Oh well Spoilers don't bug me! Anyways Good luck with the new school year and happy blogging!
