Sundays in the South: Spring Is Coming...Where are My SC Bloggers At??

This is the first weekend in a while that I've had a {little} bit of downtime.  You know, time when I wasn't working on cranking something out for the classroom.  Well, I did just whip up a couple of mental math games for my class, but for the most part today will be spent working on the mountain of laundry around here and watching the Phoenix race.

While I'm so sad that football season is over, I do love the arrival of spring.  That means that Sundays are spent racing and baseball is back in full swing.  Although yesterday was NOT baseball weather around here, I still had fun taking my nephews to the Gamecock game....even though we lost to our rivals to tie up the series. :(

I love sports.  I also love music.  Here are a few more pics from this week's Bon Jovi show for those of you who are fans.
{I love this pic of Jon and Richie!}
It was awesome!  It was promoted as "All Bon Jovi....All Night....One Night Only" - that's right, there were NO opening acts.  Just Bon Jovi.  They came on at about 8:15 and played for 3 straight hours!  The first thing they said was that you would not leave wishing they had played your favorite song.  They were going to play them all....and they did!

I have to admit that he is a bit full of himself.  He loves the attention and definitely soaks in those moments after he flashes that million dollar smile of his.  Who could blame him though?

The hubs and I both admitted that it wasn't a performance like Aerosmith or Madonna - those two will probably remain at the top of the list as far as a total performance goes, but they definitely put their hearts into it!  They were there for the fans and definitely weren't going to let you leave disappointed.  They were pouring sweat by song two and were just getting started...

This was the setlist from the show:
1. You Give Love a Bad Name
2. Raise Your Hands
3. Lost Highway
4. Because We Can
5. That's What the Water Made Me
6. It's My Life
7. Someday I'll Be Saturday Night
8. What About Now
9. We Got It Goin' On
10. Keep the Faith
11. Amen
12. Bed of Roses
13. I'll Be There For You
14. Captain Crash & The Beauty Queen from Mars
15. We Weren't Born to Follow
16. Runaway
17. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
18. Wanted Dead or Alive
19. Show Says You Can't Go Home
20. Bad Medicine
{Encore}
21. (You Want to)Make a Memory
22. In These Arms
23. Born to Be My Baby
24. Have a Nice Day
25. Livin' On a Prayer
26. I Love This Town  {despite its traffic...okay, so they added that line specifically for Atlanta!!} ;)

So, with Kid Rock and Bon Jovi, February kicked off concert season pretty well.

Up next?
March - Maroon 5 {swoon}
April - Carrie Underwood
May - Darius Rucker {a fellow Gamecock who, by the way, sent ME a friend request on FB this week...I have now made it!}

I - love - me - a - good - concert!

I bought my sister and her hubs tickets to see P!NK in Atlanta for Christmas and that concert was Friday.  She said it was AMAZING!!  She highly recommends it and will be going back if she comes anywhere near us again!

On another note, have you seen that Diane from Fifth in the Middle has created a place for bloggers to link up by STATE??  BRILLIANT!!  You know all of those fabulous blogger meet ups?  Well, now it will be so easy to keep up with each other!

Fifth in the Middle

Just click on her "Blogs by State" tab at the top and then click on your region.  There is a section to link up for each state in the region!

Right now, there are only THREE SC Bloggers linked up and I KNOW that there are a TON of us!!  Go...right now....link up!  She even made these adorable state buttons that you can add to your blog letting everyone know that you're a {insert state here} blogger. LOVE!
Help spread the word and let's get linked up....we're going to need another meet-up as soon as warm weather arrives! :)

  3. Enjoy the Darius Rucker concert! Long story, but I got to party with Hootie and the Blowfish in Houston before they blew up back in the late 90's.
    So much fun!

  5. Darius Rucker is ah-mazing in concert! He does his stuff, Hootie stuff, as well as other country songs. It was awesome! Carrie Underwood is also great. I've gone to at least 3 of her concerts! Enjoy!

  6. Who doesn't love a good concert? My hubby and I went to Red Hot Chili Peppers at the end of last year. It was AMAZING! Next, Alabama Shakes. Good luck with the laundry!
