Currently & My EXCITING News - Whole Brain Teaching Conference

I just realized that I totally forgot to mention my most EXCITING news of the week here on my blog!!  Have you heard that there's a BIG 3-Day Whole Brain Teaching Conference this summer??  I was expecting it to be on the West Coast somewhere, but secretly hoping it would be here in the South.  Guess what??  It was announced to be in Louisiana!!!

Even though that will be a 12 hour drive, my best teaching buds and I are going!!!  I am so stinkin' excited it's not even funny!!  I think it's going to be teaching heaven!  And, a road trip with my girls.....so much fun!

Are you going?  Let me know if so!  It would be extra fun to meet up with some bloggy friends!!

And, I can't end the first weekend of the month without linking up with Farley's currently!!
Listening: Everyone is still asleep at my house....husband, cat, dogs....wait a minute...why am I up??

Loving: I love a Sunday!  It's the only day during the school year that the hubs and I have off together.  I cherish every moment of the day.

Thinking: I'm actually doing really well on my resolution to get back to running.  Mom and I are well on our way to reaching those goals!  {Yay us!}  But, I'm starting to fall back into the trap of not saying "NO" to others.  I must say NO.  Why is it so hard?

Wanting:  Look, I didn't ask for a full-blow vacation.  Just a weekend get-away.  That's not too much to ask for, right? :)

Needing:  You may have heard me mention that I teach a class of football fanatics this year.  Well, one of my sweet boys is the BIGGEST Ravens fan I have ever seen!  He wears his Ray Lewis jersey every other day.  Seriously.  To say that he is excited about the Super Bowl is a gross understatement.  Well, yesterday during our fun Super Bowl day, he asked if we could do the "Ray Lewis dance."  Seeing that I had no idea what he was talking about I said that I would try to learn it and if his Ravens won the Super Bowl we would do it on Monday!  So.....I guess I need to find out more about this "dance."  Oh.My.

Just YouTube'd this....I better start practicing...and hoping that my principal doesn't walk in during this dance tomorrow....or just hope that the Ravens lose.  ;)

Pet Peeve:  To say I have a ton of pet peeves would really just be breaking the ice.  In general, people annoy me.  Haha!  But, one pet peeve that I have that I don't think many others share is people backing into parking spaces.  It never fails!  I get behind this person at work every single day.  They pull into the parking lot, then proceed to slow down, only to want to back up to get a parking space they just passed.  It takes them 10 minutes to get lined up to back into the space.  Really?  If they just whipped it in there, it would only take them a few seconds to BACK OUT at the end of the day.  I just don't get it.  Perhaps if you were at a major event (like say, the Super Bowl) and you knew there were going to be lines of cars to get out of the event and backing out would be difficult, but in every day general life THERE IS NO REASON TO BACK INTO A PARKING SPACE!

  7. Oops, I'm guilty of backing into parking spaces. I'm pretty bad at parking in general (I consider the lines to be just a suggestion), but I don't do it when I will be making someone wait. That would drive me crazy too!

  12. Seriously looking into that WBT conference. Since the conference itself is FREE, it makes it easier to try to go :)

We may end up with a convoy from South Carolina :)

  14. Your pet peeves cracked me up! And I will look into the free WBT conference, too! Is it similar to Eric Jensen's brain work?

If the Ravens win I'm going to play that dance video for my students tomorrow - thanks.
