So, here are some of my Halloween shares for you....
Books
An oldie but a goodie....
and of course, Robert Munsch is always hilarious!
Activity
One of my favorite activities to do this time of year is creating our Fact & Opinion Spiders. It's such a fun activity that assesses an important skill! Students create the spider and, after reading informational books about spiders, write FACTS about spiders on 4 of the legs and OPINIONS about spiders on 4 of the legs. Such a cute display!
You can find this activity at Teacher's Clubhouse for $0.99, if you're interested!
Freebies
Finally, here are a couple of Halloween related FREEBIES for you!
Pumpkin Symmetry - Students use symmetry to complete the faces on the pumpkins! (Click the sample below to download)
Pumpkins Fact & Opinion Learning Center - This freebie includes everything you need for an independent center - cover page, fact & opinion pumpkins, sorting mat, independent assessment, self-checking answer key, and teacher instructions. (Click the sample below to download)
Halloween is my absolute FA-VOR-ITE holiday ever and this little idea came from Pinterest, but of course, I simplified it! ;) It is seriously THE most simple project in the world - 5 minutes TOPS!
Instructions:
Fold a pool noodle in half and stick it (ends up) in a cauldron or pot. Place striped socks on the ends of the noodle (I used child-sized). Add witch shoe covers (again, child-sized works). Stuff newspaper in the cauldron to fill empty space and top with grass (I purchased mine at A.C. Moore). That's it! Makes a great table centerpiece for a Halloween party. Speaking of, I'll have lots of Halloween pictures up on my "Sundays in the South" post this weekend....my house is almost all set for our Halloween Bash on Friday! :)
Now, I'm on my way to find other fabulous bloggers to BOO! You can check out this linky and everyone who has been BOO-ed already at Tori's Teacher Tips. Thanks for such a fun linky, Tori!
Thank you for the link to the spiders...so cute!
